Many moons ago, when the world seemed less progressive in terms of equal rights for men and women, it was largely considered that flight attendants were in fact stewardesses. Largely compiled of a female workforce perusing the aisles of planes in what was referred to as the golden age of travel. Then, aviation began to catch up with the modern world and more so than ever, flight attendants are both male and female. Since mass aviation, the perception of the role a flight attendant plays has certainly changed. Uniforms have rightly-so become more appropriate and the role of a flight attendant is now less sexualised than it was perhaps 30 years ago. Women's hairstyles in the early s had been fairly individualistic, although most British, Irish, Australian, Russian, Korean, and continental European women kept the simplistic, straight, long and natural coloured hairstyles of the mid s. Many women also used hair extensions to make their hair look much longer and fuller. By the mid s, straight and wavy hairstyles were dominant globally, especially the blonde dyed beach waves. A North Carolina charter school's requirement that girls wear skirts has been struck down by a federal judge as unconstitutional. The court also rejected the school's argument that its dress code promoted "traditional values" and fostered "mutual respect" between boys and girls. The "defendants have shown no connection between these stated goals and the requirement that girls wear skirts," the ruling said. The decision was on a lawsuit filed in by the American Civil Liberties Union, the ACLU of North Carolina, and a law firm on behalf of three girls ages 5, 10, and 14 claiming the school's dress code led them to be colder in the winter and forced them to pay constant attention to the positioning of their legs. The charter school said in a written statement in that, "CDS's dress code is not discriminatory and is clearly written out such that parents and students know what is permitted.
We asked our readers: Are skirts a practical garment for schoolgirls? Both study in co-eds; the elder one goes to a school where girls have to wear a buttoned blouse and pleated skirt. The younger one goes to a school where the uniform is tees and pants for both girls and boys. As a mother, especially one who has daughters in both types of school clothing, I am completely against schools making skirts mandatory for girls. When the girl is younger, the problem is that she keeps outgrowing the skirt.
